Job Description

AFRY's environmental organization is currently national with offices from Malmö to Kiruna, and through close collaboration between different technical areas, we together form a strong whole. In Sweden, we currently have over 220 employees within the fields of Environment and Sustainability.

The Environmental Planning southwest section at AFRY Environment currently consists of about 30 employees distributed across the offices in Gothenburg, Halmstad, Malmö, and Karlskrona, focusing on contaminated areas, cultural environment, EIA/permitting, natural environment, sustainability, and climate. The section currently has a group manager, but we need an additional group manager for half of the section, who will report directly to the section manager.

In the role of group manager with us, you will have personnel responsibility for a group of about 15 people. You will have a role with great variety, opportunities for many contacts and client meetings, with responsibility for the staff's individual development and work situation. You will participate in the section's operations, including strategies, profitability, marketing, quality, personnel, and competence development. Your managerial role will be combined with working as a consultant, preferably as a project manager or technical specialist.

The work primarily takes place at the stationing location. Some travel may occur in the position. There is also the possibility of remote work in consultation with the section manager.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is passionate about team development, satisfied customers, business acumen, and has a strong interest in the section's services. We are all team players, and in the role of group manager, it is required that you are attentive, curious, and collaborative. We seek someone who is passionate about seeing others develop and building sustainable teams.

For this role, we see that you have more than 8 years of experience in the environmental field and are well-versed in the issues within our technical areas of focus: FO, permitting, EIA, nature, culture, sustainability, and have good knowledge of Swedish environmental legislation. Educationally, you have an academic, scientific, or technical degree with a completed examination in the environmental field. You have previous experience as a consultant and project manager, but experience working on the contractor or client side is also valuable.

You have previously demonstrated good leadership and can naturally engage and motivate others. We see that you have good social skills and enjoy being challenged both technically and in terms of business and leadership. You have a business-driven approach, are relationship-building, and it is a significant advantage if you have an established network in the industry. Of course, you see yourself as a team player and enjoy sharing your knowledge with both clients and colleagues. For this role, we also see that you are fluent in Swedish and English and can express yourself easily in both spoken and written form.

We also see that you have a B driver's license and are passionate about creating good relationships with employees, partners, and clients.
